Global supply chain and operations consultancy drives sustainable EBITDA and cash improvements among PE clients

Global supply chain and operations consulting firm Maine Pointe today announced the promotion of Mark McTigue from Vice President, Industry Partner, Private Equity; to Executive VP, Private Equity, North America.

In his new role, McTigue will continue offering hands-on experience to help PE firms solve their toughest supply chain and operations challenges while achieving new levels of performance.

As a senior business professional with more than 25 years’ experience solving complex business problems, McTigue has a strong track record for helping C-level and private equity executives improve value and optimize performance across the end-to-end supply chain.

“Mark is a proven leader and his skills and insights have proven essential in helping our PE clients achieve unparalleled levels of competitive success,” said David Jadwin, Executive VP, Business Development at Maine Pointe. “He has been instrumental in driving supply chain optimization and surpassing clients’ targets for growth, and he has been instrumental in positioning Total Value Optimization (TVO)™ as one of the most important business methodologies of the decade.” TVO is at the heart of Maine Pointe’s strategy for creating end-to-end shareholder value across the entire global supply chain.

McTigue has worked with a variety of clients, including start-ups, turnarounds and high-growth environments. He has significant P&L experience across both Fortune 1000 and mid-market companies across multiple industries, including consumer packaged goods, industrial products, chemicals, food and beverage, automotive, oil & gas, financial services, high-tech, hospitality and logistics. As a trusted advisor to CEOs and board members, he has been instrumental in driving more than a billion dollars in sustainable EBITDA and cash improvements for his clients.

As an expert in private equity management, McTigue frequently publishes original thought leadership in high-profile business management publications, including The Innovation Enterprise, where his article, “Private equity: The effectiveness of operating resources in creating incremental value,” looks at the importance of value creation and how PE firms have diversified their roles; and in Consultancy, where he and Maine Pointe’s Michael Kirstein discussed the role analytics plays in helping private equity improve due diligence.

“Private equity is seeing major changes,” said McTigue. “Spending by PE firms is up, but we often see a value gap between targets for cost reduction, cash flow and growth and the actual value derived from an acquisition. In my new role as EVP, I will continue to help our PE clients achieve success in the face of new challenges.”

Recently, Maine Pointe, a leading supply chain and operations consultant to the private equity firms, conducted a survey of 50 PE executives. The company found that many firms still lack understanding of the critical importance of supply chain in areas such as logistics, operations and procurement, and only 16 percent have a multiyear, documented strategy for supply chain excellence. In a recent white paper sponsored by Maine Pointe and published by the University of Tennessee’s Global Supply Chain Institute titled, “Driving shareholder value with your supply chain,” the authors showed shareholder value is inextricably linked to supply chain performance.
