Maine Pointe Supports Doctors Without Borders, Stand Up to Cancer, and Harry Chapin Food Bank

Donations totaling $60,000 raised at Maine Pointe's annual company meeting highlight company's Corporate Social Responsibility Program

(Boston, Mass., December 11, 2018) – Global supply chain and operations consulting firm Maine Pointe continued its annual giving tradition and corporate social responsibility program with donations to three organizations this year. In all, the firm raised $60,000 for charity at its annual company event held at the JW Marriott in Marco Island, Florida on November 7 to 9. At last year's charity event, the company had raised $51,750.

Doctors Without Borders received a gift of $40,000 from Maine Pointe. Doctors Without Borders is an independent, lifesaving humanitarian medical care organization dedicated to rapid response, helping those who are in the greatest need without geographical or political considerations. Doctors Without Borders helps millions of people every year throughout the world.

Maine Pointe also gave a $10,000 gift to Stand Up to Cancer to help support the group's collaborative cancer research programs to find breakthroughs against cancer. Stand Up to Cancer's unique model lets scientists and researchers across institutions and disciplines work together towards the shared goal of ending cancer and delivering truly meaningful outcomes for patients battling cancer.

Maine Pointe also provided $10,000 in support to Harry Chapin Food Bank in southwest Florida. The organization partners with more than 150 agencies providing direct services to those in need, including church food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters and disaster relief agencies. Harry Chapin Food Bank has distributed over 200 million pounds of food over its 35-year history.

"Maine Pointe is committed to building a caring and financially strong business and being a company who gives back to the world community socially and environmentally. We are very pleased to be able to support these three outstanding organizations this year," said Maine Pointe Chairman and CEO, Steve Bowen. "We must reflect our commitment to people in the way we work with employees, contractors and clients and carry this supportive approach as 'One Team One Voice' in how we contribute to the wider community around the world. Our company meeting gives us an opportunity to honor this commitment, involve and engage our entire team, and raise funds for deserving causes."

The money was raised during a competitive team-building event at Maine Pointe's annual meeting, which provides all Maine Pointe staff an opportunity to not only to reinforce their commitment to each other as a team, but also to reinforce their commitment to the community.
